It’s Weeding Wednesday!

Eons ago, when I was in school, we learned the 3 Rs: Reading, wRiting and ‘Rithmetic (which annoyed me to no end, as only one of them is TRULY an R).  One thing no one ever taught me?

The Art & Science of Dumpster Diving!

Plan to become a freecycler?  This might come in handy!

Thinking of dropping out of school?  You may have to learn this skill!

And never forget- one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!

Pick this book up in the library today and *ahem* DIVE right in :)

38 Essential Chicago Restaurants

So, the fab folks over at Eater: Chicago have posted an updated list of the 38 essential Chicago restaurants. Can’t lie- really excited that my favorite burger joint DMK made the list (and you suburbanites should check out its outpost in Lombard)!  When you go, try their #2 – Chili Rubbed Onion Strings, Amish Blue and Spicy Chipotle Ketchup or their #5 – Bison Burger, Fresh Goat Cheese, Pickled Red Onions, and Blueberry BBQ Sauce. To. Die. For.

But it’s nice to have a new list of places to try in 2012 :)

Muppets + wine

Muppets + wine = happy Kel

Is it just me, or does my rabbit aerator look like a Snouth??

Blah, blah, blog

Welcome to the domain of the Culinarian Librarian, a site chronicling my exploits in the kitchen as well as reading recommendations and musings on life in general (the former two on which I am a relative expert; the latter on which I am decidedly not).

I spend my days in a library (heyyyy, dream job), and I spend most evenings in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes or perfecting my old standbys.

Most recipes you’ll find on here have been culled from other sites, and I’ve modified them to fit my palate.  I’ll always link back to the original, and note any changes I’ve made.

Thanks for visiting, and Bon Appetit!
